Brocade DCX Backbone – результат 25 лет лидерства в области технологий центров обработки данных. Это флагманский продукт компании, который сочетает высочайшую плотность портов, поддержку различных протоколов передачи данных, модульную структуру и непревзойденную линейную масштабируемость и отказоустойчивость . DCX Backbone предназначен, в первую очередь, для построения ядра сети хранения данных уровня предприятия.
В шасси размером 14U устанавливается до 8 лезвий с портами, 2 управляющих лезвия (Control Processor Blade, CP) в отказоустойчивой конфигурации и два коммутирующих лезвия Core Blade (CR), которые обеспечивают связь между портами на разных лезвиях.К платам CR можно напрямую подключить еще 1 или 2 шасси семейства DCX с помощью кабелей ICL (InterChassis Link), не используя оптических портов.
Все модули DCX зарезервированы, включая управляющие и коммутирующие лезвия, блоки питания,вентиляторы охлаждения и платы, хранящие информацию о шасси. Использование специализированных микросхем (Condor2 ASIC) собственной разработки
для передачи данных позволяет достичь выдающихся показателей энергопотребления – всего 0,6 Вт на 1 Гбит/с скорости в режиме 8 Гбит/с. Это на порядок меньше конкурирующих решений, в которых энергопотребление превышает 5 Вт на 1 Гбит/с.
При использовании 64портовых лезвий Fibre Channel общее количество портов на DCX достигает 512, а суммарная пропускная способность – 4 Тбит/с, не считая еще 512 Гбит/с на ICLподключениях. При этом в худшем случае, если все оконечные устрой
ства будут одновременно обмениваться информацией через Core Blade на скорости 8 Гбит/с, переподписка коммутатора составит 2:1. Однако на практике это значение гораздо ниже, т. к. микросхемы Condor2 обеспечивают локальную коммутацию
в пределах ASIC, без использования Core Blade. На практике DCX работает без переподписки, т.к. ASIC поддерживает локальную коммутацию – все устройства, находящиеся в одной портгруппе, общаются на линейной скорости, трафик не покидает ASIC.
Младшая модель, DCX*4S, обладает таким же функционалом, как DCX, но позволяет установить до четырех лезвий с портами в компактное шасси размером 8U.
